1B Liquidated in a Blink as Bitcoin Hits 87K, What’s Twisting Next? 🦇🖤

Bitcoin’s price is closing in on $87,000 after this explosive rally that just wrecked over $1 billion in liquidations across crypto derivatives rn. 🖤

The cryptocurrency hit an intraday high at exactly $87,000 with its total market cap climbing toward $1.8 trillion. 🌙

This move extends Bitcoin’s impressive recovery from around $75,000 last week and pushed it to the highest price since January. 🦇

Shorts Get Crushed as BTC Rallies Higher 💥

The sharp move caught leveraged traders who were betting on more downside. 🔥

Data from CoinGlass shows roughly $1 billion worth of positions got liquidated with $900 million being shorts. More than 139,000 traders saw their positions force-closed and the single largest one happened on Hyperliquid at slightly over $20 million. 😈

This massive imbalance means forced short closures added extra momentum as BTC cleared several resistance levels in quick succession. ✨

This is basically a short squeeze turning into a full liquidation cascade. 📈

What Happens Next for Bitcoin? 🔮

Eyes are shifting fast toward the $88,000 area and beyond to $90K. 🌹

Some analysts highlighted Bitcoin reclaiming its 50-week moving average near $78,700 as a super important technical shift with $88K as the next target. 💀

Other views point to a major bearish block around this zone so a sustained break above $88K could unlock $90K or even $95K while $80K and $82K flipped into key support. 🕸️

Brian Armstrong Says A CLARITY Act Flop Could Hand Coinbase A Crypto Edge 🕷️🖤

Brian Armstrong, the ceo over at coinbase, thinks the senate flopping on the clarity act could lowkey be a vibe for his exchange rn because it keeps those wall street giants from crashing our defi party under some fresh rules 🖤.

The crypto exec still pushed that the bill would’ve boosted the whole space tho, even while admitting coinbase might dodge some heat without all that extra comp.

A Bill Passing Wouldve Spelled Way More Rivals 🎲

In a september 20 chat with scott melker the coinbase boss explained how the bill flop could hit mixed notes for the crew. Clear rules might pull in traditional finance heavy hitters to crypto but it would also flood the gate with fresh rivals 💀.

Every major financial services company in the world would have started integrating crypto with regulatory clarity. We would have had tons more competition armstrong noted. So in a way honestly it arguably could even be better for us to go under this path because were one of the few companies whos willing to go through that.

The big guy also looped back on coinbases gripes with an older draft of the bill. That january version had issues around tokenized stocks fines for defi devs the cftcs grip on spot markets and stablecoin rewards 🌙.

He kept saying those four spots got fixed in the latest senate version so those old objections are now ghosts.

Coinbase Pivot To Regulators While Congress Freezes Up 🔮

With the bill stuck the exchanges ceo noted coinbase can just keep vibing with the sec and cftc while they cook up fresh industry rules 👀. In the short term its probably better for us in certain ways he told melker. Its a little bit more permissive to have the sec and cftc do it.

Hes treating the bill as basically dead unless it gets a revival and seven dem senators have shown they aint quitting on crypto laws yet.

Armstrong dropped these takes amid bigger fights on how rules should handle stablecoin rewards plus ties between crypto squads and old school banks. The genius act set a federal frame for payment stablecoins but bank comp questions are still buzzing around the chat.

He added that coinbase is down to team up with banks instead of seeing them as pure rivals 💅.

Escaping the Bear’s Allure to $88K: Analyst Sees Bitcoin’s Rally Still Igniting 🕷️✨

Bitcoin’s kinda tracing that same spooky path from 2022-2023 rn fr according to Doctor Profit’s fresh take. 🖤 The analyst noted how breaking past the 50-week moving average set up the wild push to the 82500-83000 zone which just exploded over the last few hours. 🌙

That 2022-2023 Vibe Repeating 💀

The MA50 Weekly sits around 78700 now. BTC blasted past it and hovered near 85000 at writing time after that insane Monday surge. Doctor Profit thinks a weekly close above the average would lock in his super bullish hunch. His call comes from BTC’s old market setup in 2022-2023 when it got rejected around the MA50 Weekly a bunch before finally clearing it. ✨ Bitcoin dipped below the MA50 Weekly then snatched it back seven times total. Five of those led straight into bull runs while two turned out fakeouts. Those fakes hit once in 2011 when liquidity was basically nonexistent and again in 2020 during the COVID crash. 🕷️ The scene rn mirrors that pattern exactly. The analyst dropped this. Bears saw the dip as proof of total collapse but the market flipped hard. I spot the same big shift happening now. 🔥 This latest break puts all eyes on the fresh bull phase kicking off which everyone has been guessing about lately. Doctor Profit called 88000 the next stop once resistance clears. 👻

Even Bolder Target Incoming 🔮

Another trader thinks Bitcoin might copy an old cycle again. Crypto Patel pointed out the 364-day gap from the 2017 top to 2018 bottom then the same gap from the 2021 top to 2022 bottom. It looks like the 2025 peak to 2026 bottom is lining up too. 🌸 BTC is retesting long-term trendline support after losing the big EC zone. If the pattern holds Crypto Patel said the next huge jump could hit 370000. Price action has to confirm it first though.

Bitcoin Just Hit 86K Yet One Issue Lurks Close 🖤 🌒

Bitcoin just smashed through $85,000 on Monday and hit levels we haven’t seen since late January. The crypto asset pumped 6% in the last 24 hours alone. 💸

The Recovery’s Got a Missing Piece 💀

Data shows this bounce still needs some serious US spot love to lock in tho. According to the latest from CryptoQuant the Coinbase Premium Index dipped negative again rn. That index tracks the price gap between Bitcoin on Coinbase’s USD market and Binance’s USDT market. A positive vibe usually screams stronger US buying pressure while negative hints at weaker demand or heavier selling on Coinbase 🖤.
The read dropped earlier today when BTC was chilling around $81,500 and the index sat at -0.02. It briefly flipped positive but slipped back negative. This means the recent Bitcoin run isn’t backed by steady Coinbase demand fr. In past cycles positive premiums lined up with US spot buyers pushing BTC higher. CryptoQuant noted traders should watch if the premium climbs back above zero stays there and rises with the price. That would confirm US buyers are jumping in on the recovery 🔮.
Still this slight negative dip doesn’t scream bearish reversal or anything extreme lol. Experts are lowkey debating if crypto winter is truly done. Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan thinks we entered crypto spring instead 🌹. He told CNBC the dip after BTC’s all-time high above $126,000 in October 2025 is history and this cycle could turn into the strongest longest bull run ever 🦇.

Strategy’s Bold Return 🌙

Adding more fuel Strategy jumped back into BTC buys after pausing three weeks. They grabbed 950 BTC for $75.7 million at an average of $79,670 per coin as co-founder Michael Saylor shared. The move lifts their total stash to 846,000 BTC bought for $63.8 billion. At today’s prices that pile is worth around $72 billion 🚀.
The latest data came with a link that opens in a new tab for the full details here. 👻
