Ethereum Eyes October 6 For Glamsterdam Sepolia Fork 🖤🕷️

Ethereum devs just dropped a tentative Glamsterdam Sepolia testnet date for October 6 at 13:53 UTC 🌑 even while private devnet bugs keep popping up like spooky surprises 🖤. This lines up for a December mainnet drop but only if the next test phase locks in a stable network fr.

Glamsterdam Date Depends on Devnet Testing 💀

Protocol queen Christine D. Kim spilled in her newsletter that devs greenlit the October 6 Sepolia slot but flagged major caveats rn, starting with Glamsterdam not running stable on private devnet yet. Glamsterdam-Devnet-9 kicked off September 1 packing 1,000 validator nodes for the biggest one yet but its not finalizing properly causing headaches. EF engineer Stefan Starflinger called out how the scale exposed edge case issues and previous Devnet-8 had a brutal block proposal bug that could freeze everything 🔥. Then EF researcher Maria Silva spotted another EIP-8037 gas cost bug forcing every execution client to patch up fast 👻.

Hoodi and Mainnet Dates Remain Uncertain 🕸️

No Hoodi date locked in either after devs decided to chill a few more weeks cuz of Devnet-9 drama with Enrico del Fante from Consensys pushing the wait 🦇. Mainnet hopes still target before end of 2026 but Sepolia timing isnt making it any more certain tho client code isnt ready for prime time yet 🌙. The broader roadmap sketches Glamsterdam activation December 2026 before the quantum resistant Hegotá push in 2029 and Ethereum keeps shipping changes around twice a year like that Fusaka run last December lmao.
