Gemini Aligns With Apex To Sneak Crypto Event Contracts Into Brokerages ๐Ÿ–ค๐ŸŒ‘

Gemini has inked a non-binding letter of intent with Apex Fintech Solutions ๐ŸŒ™ that positions its subsidiary Gemini Titan as the exclusive regulated venue for crypto event contracts ๐Ÿ–ค.

Distribution Network Details ๐Ÿ”ฎ

According to the press release these contracts will be distributed through Apexโ€™s futures commission merchant to its brokerage customers ๐Ÿฆ‡. Brokerages offering those contracts through the Apex FCM rely on Gemini for execution and clearing โœจ. The release notes Gemini also grants Apex flexibility to team up on sports economics and financial markets contracts on a non-exclusive basis ๐Ÿ’Ž. Both firms anticipate finalizing the finer points in the coming weeks ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ.
Geminiโ€™s forward-looking statements frame the deal as a non-binding letter of intent while flagging the risk that parties might not reach a definitive agreement.

Regulatory Milestones Unfold ๐Ÿ–ค

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission approval arrived in stages with Gemini Titan already holding a Designated Contract Market license since December 2025 which enabled it to begin offering regulated prediction markets to US customers ๐ŸŒ™. Gemini first submitted for that license back in March 2020. In April the subsidiary Gemini Olympus obtained a Derivatives Clearing Organization license shifting derivatives clearing and settlement for Gemini Titan in-house.
โ€œLeveraging more than a decade of experience building and operating a regulated platform for crypto a new and emergent asset class we deliberately chose to build our predictions platform in-houseโ€ Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss said. He added that predictions represent the future of markets and this setup allows Gemini to expand offerings while opening access to valued partners like Apex as demand for event contracts rises ๐Ÿ”ฎ.
The two companies have collaborated before as Gemini launched stock trading at 0% commissions for certain US customers in July with Apex Clearing Corporation serving as custodian and clearing broker.

Revenue Growth Sparks Interest โœจ

Apex Global Head of Digital Markets Travis McGhee highlighted that brokerage clients gain regulated access to crypto event contracts without needing to build the plumbing themselves ๐Ÿฆ‡. Apex notes its infrastructure supports hundreds of clients and tens of millions of end investors while its Apex Clearing Corporation subsidiary holds licenses across 53 states and territories ๐Ÿ’Ž.
Robinhood recorded 156 million in event contract revenue during the second quarter more than 10 times higher than a year earlier on a record 13.6 billion contracts.
Geminiโ€™s prediction market operations already face legal scrutiny though New York Attorney General Letitia James sued the prediction market arms of Coinbase and Gemini arguing they operate unlicensed gambling without New York State Gaming Commission approval.
โ€œGambling by another name is still gambling and it is not exempt from regulation under our state laws and Constitutionโ€ James stated.
