Robinhood Devs Face Charges for Sneaky Crypto Swaps on Hidden Listings 🕸️🖤

Two Robinhood engineers just got hit with charges in the US over some sneaky crypto trading using company secrets fr 🌙
The US Department of Justice dropped that Hefu Chai and Huaisong Xiang allegedly traded crypto perpetual futures on Hyperliquid with non-public Robinhood info 👀

Insider Plays On The Down Low 💼

According to complaints unsealed by the Southern District of New York both coders had the scoop on upcoming crypto listings at Robinhood Crypto 😈 They used that edge before any public announcement hit the feeds. The duo bought perpetual futures tied to those tokens on Hyperliquid and kept repeating the move from 2025 into 2026. Each one allegedly walked away with more than $50,000 in gains 💸

Wall Street Echoes From The Terra Crash 📉

The charges pull up another wild case from earlier this year when Jane Street Group got accused of trading around the TerraUSD collapse 💀 Prosecutors said the firm used a private Telegram channel to chat with Terraform Labs insiders and dumped about $192 million worth of UST before the whole thing imploded 🔥 The DOJ slapped both engineers with commodities fraud and wire fraud counts. Those carry max sentences of 10 and 20 years respectively lmao.
