Uniswap whales surge to fresh seven-month heights after the $100 whisper ๐Ÿฆ‡๐ŸŒ™

Uniswap caught some fresh momentum this week as institutional whispers about UNIโ€™s future stirred up the markets and feeds.

Whales Stirring Up Volume ๐ŸŒ‘

Whale moves on the network hit a 7-month high while active whale addresses climbed to a four-month peak according to Santimentโ€™s report. The buzz followed a bold long-term forecast from Standard Charteredโ€™s Geoff Kendrick and team projecting UNI at $100 by 2030. They linked it to tokenized assets surging on-chain to roughly $4 trillion by end of 2028 from around $340 billion currently.

The researchers also flagged that tokenized assets in DeFi could expand at least 37 times over the next four years, hinting at serious ripple effects for Uniswapโ€™s liquidity pools. Uniswap sits in a strong spot to grab that growth with its general-purpose trading setup, solid history, brand pull, and lead in correlated asset pairs as the top DEX.

This weekend the protocol confirmed tokenized equities like Apple, Tesla and NVIDIA now trade via its app and API. Earlier it also opened access to BlackRockโ€™s BUIDL fund through UniswapX which sparked a 40% token pop. Standard Chartered laid out a clear path: $6.50 by year-end, $20 by 2027, $40 by 2028, $65 by 2029 and finally $100 in 2030. That path spells a potential 40x jump from recent levels and outperformance versus Bitcoin and Ethereum.

โ€œUniswap shocked traders with a +24% surge and massive whale activity and volume,โ€ Santiment reported on X.

On June 17 that note dropped and the next day Santiment followed with active addresses hitting a 4-month high plus whale transactions matching their level from seven months back.

UNI Chart Vibes ๐Ÿ”ฎ

Price-wise UNI hovered near $3.10 at writing after tapping $3.65 in the last 24 hours, its highest since mid-May. The token climbed almost 24% over the past week and over 16% in 14 days though it still sits down nearly 12% for the month and 58% year-on-year. ๐Ÿ–ค
