The giant recently announced Schwab Crypto trading service will add Solana (SOL) Chainlink (LINK) and Avalanche (AVAX) in the coming months. Eligible clients now gain direct access to 5 cryptocurrencies after the launch with only Bitcoin and Ethereum back in May. Charles Schwab clarified these won’t be the final altcoins with plans to weave in more digital assets over time.

“With this expansion clients will have more choices to build a digital asset allocation alongside the investing and banking experience they know and trust at Schwab. These additions align with our approach to provide access to familiar cryptocurrencies backed by education tools resources and support for informed decisions on how crypto fits broader investing goals” said the entity’s Head of Digital Assets Joe Vietri. Clients view and trade crypto holdings next to traditional investments on the website mobile app and thinkorswim platform with trades carrying a 0.75% fee on each transaction’s dollar value.
Some regions stay locked out as Schwab Crypto remains unavailable to New York and Louisiana residents plus US territories and international spots. Support for these assets could still shift based on regulatory market operational or risk factors. The BTC and ETH launch arrived just before May’s rally pushing the leader near 83000. Three months of pressure followed with BTC dipping under 58000 by July 1. Now these alt additions hit a stronger market where BTC surged to 81000 multiple times. SOL climbed over 40% in the past month LINK gained 38% while AVAX rose a steadier 15%.
